Classes

  • Beginning Pottery

An 8 week long introductory course for those who have never worked on a pottery wheel or who just want to brush up on their skills. Class meets once a week for 2.5 hours to learn the basics of wheel thrown pottery: wedging, centering, pulling, trimming, glazing, and studio etiquette. I will also cover basic hand-building instruction. Included in the cost is everything you need while you are in class, and open studio time to practice what you are learning.

  • Clay Dates

A one-time, 2 hour class designed for couples, friends, or small groups that want to have some fun, get creative, get a little messy, and learn what it takes to make a pot on the pottery wheel. You’ll get to try out a pottery wheel as I guide you through making your own unique pot that will be fired in the glaze of your choice. Work will be finished and ready for you to pick up in approximately 2 weeks.

  • Private Lessons

You and up to one other person can learn anything from the basics to advanced pottery techniques. Customize your lesson or lesson series to fit your creative desires. Beginners very welcome. Other topics for lessons might include hand-building techniques, surface decoration, glazing, bowl forms, flat forms, closed forms, carving, and throwing large.
